Swimming

This past winter the kids took swim lessons and we have not really had the opportunity to put those lessons into action. Our neighborhood does not have a pool and we have not been on vacation yet. Tonight, we went to a pool party for a friend of the kids and it did not have a kids pool which meant the kids had to swim to do stuff at the pool. I was beyond impressed with their skills. They were both a little timid at first but by about 5 minutes into it, they were all about jumping in. Noah would jump into the pool and swim right back to the side of the pool without help. He made sure though I was right there to help if needed. Glad at least he had a "need" to have me right there just in case something happened. Seth was just the same. He jumped in with his life jacket on and begged to keep on jumping. They loved it!!! Every time Seth would jump in he would say " you proud of me mommy?!?" Oh I'm so proud of both my boys!!! Can't believe how brave and great they did swimming tonight!

Splash Pad Fun!

I've been telling the boys for weeks we were going to go to a splash pad to play in the water. It seemed like every time we tried to go, it rained or it rained. The weather this spring has been not the norm. Finally, it was nice out and we packed out swimsuits and headed to the splash pad. They loved it!

After about 30 minutes of water fun, they begged to go on the playground. The boys love playgrounds! They played there hearts out and had a great time. I'm so glad my boys get along together. They played nicely all day together!

"I NEED Coffee!"

Jeremy's birthday was last week and I've heard any say over the past few days "why don't we have a coffee machine?" I found this cute little single serve coffee pot for a great deal and a perfect color: lime green! I gave it to Jeremy for his birthday and had no idea Noah would be more excited over the coffee maker then anyone. He has begged since opening it to have some coffee with his breakfast. I got a big kick out of it and even laughed at my own child having a tantrum wanting some coffee with his breakfast.

So I gave in and this morning I made him a warm cup of coffee. I asked him how he wanted it "with a piece of chocolate, please." I'm pretty sure that's not how many Americans like there coffee. I preceded to fix it another way: half milk and half coffee. After it cooled, he took one sip and said "this is gross." I laughed again and said "I bet tomorrow you'll ask for milk with your breakfast!"

Fearless in a Pool

Tonight, we had a one year old birthday party to attend for some good friends of ours. I was afraid the rain might come and ruin the party. The clouds were dark during the pizza and cake smashing part but all a sudden the clouds broke and we hit the pool. Not knowing how the kids would do, I was interested to see there reactions. Seth wanted nothing to do with food only getting into the pool. They had not been in a pool since swim lessons.

The ran right towards the kids area and splashed around...

That lasted about 15 minutes and we found the giant slide. They were a little afraid to go down it at first but after about 3 times they were going down it themselves.

Someone was having a blast...

Love how my boys love each other...

Fearless Noah went head first and Jeremy had him swim to him once he got into the water. He did great!

Seth got in on the action going head first...

I'm a tough boy!

They had a blast @ the pool and we are glad the rain help off for an hour so we could enjoy it!

Monsters University

Jeremy's family took the kids and I to see a movie on this rainy weather July 4th weekend. It was Seth's 1st real movie at a theater and he did so great! We saw Monsters University and he loved it!

all ready for go... we got when is this movie going to start cause there were so many previews.

Someone ate tons of popcorn! I was hoping he would not get sick.

He had a great time at the movie... they have their swimsuits on because we were headed to a splash park but it started to rain. Boo!

And just for kicks... the kids built a fort yesterday in Seth's room. They said no girls allowed!

July 4th!

Ok. So I'm tired of the rain. End of Story. Today it started out like is was going to rain then the sun finally decided to come out! We headed up to my Nana's house for a fun filled day. We didn't get out the water stuff because it looked like it was going to rain all day long until we left. We did have fishing stuff and everyone fished the entire day...

The boys watched on carefully to see how to get the fishing poles ready.

The waited patiently (or not so patiently) to catch a fish...

When they got one they would scream! They were excited when anyone got a fish.

Jeremy convinced Noah to touch it.

He was so proud he touched the fish...

We headed home with 2 exhausted boys. Seth was getting to be a handful with not having a nap. They slept most of the way home and we let them sleep in the garage when we got home for a few more minutes. They were refreshed and ready to go for round 2. We got these hand-held sparklers for a $1 and let them hold them. They enjoyed it.

We stayed around the house to watch fireworks cause they both said they were tired. Maybe next year we'll get to see some fireworks up close and personal. Until then I'll have to watch them from my backyard.

Quotes of a 4 year old...

Noah's quote from doing his "homework" tonight: "I don't like this coloring thing. It's going to make my arm fall off." Seriously all the preschool page wanted him to do was color the orange orange and the carrot! At least he was excited about tracing the word orange.
