Mint Hill Parade 2012

We had a wonderful day today!!! This morning was our town's annual parade. Noah was looking forward to it and has got the hang of holding out his bucket to get candy and other goodies. Poor thing begged to see some clowns but there were no clowns in the parade! We picked out seats and waited (patiently) for the parade to start...

While waiting we decided to get a picture in front of the BIG truck!

Finally the parade started. All the kids were so well behaved.

Noah waved @ everyone in passing.

Seth just begged for anyone to put more candy in his bucket! He got quiet several times and we would find him digging through his bucket eating the candy!

We loved the fire trucks!

The cool race cars were talked about lots!

Army trucks were super cool!

Afterwards we headed to the kids area for some fun! Noah begged to go down the slides. A little water did not stop him from going down them (literally the slides were wet from the drizzle of rain).

And Seth got in on the action too!!!

We had a wonderful time @ the parade! Can't wait til next year!!!

Soccer Update

Our new Friday night routine consists of eating dinner quickly and heading out to the soccer field. I have yet to purchase the mini-van but I think I'm officially  a soccer mom now. Noah is loving every minute of soccer and begs to play almost every day when we get home. He scored 2 goals last night and was so proud of himself. He doesn't like it when the games end. Here are some recaps from this past Friday...

ABC's of Learning

Since Noah moved up to a new class at school, they are learning their letters, states, numbers, and proper techniques in hand-washing and manners. We have also tried to in-cooperate all of it into our daily routine at home. We are doing a letter of the week with Noah and right now he's on the letter "D". He's doing good getting them all spelled out and writing them can be hard for him but he's getting the hang of it. We write our letters each night before bed along with practicing writing our name....

I think he's doing a great job!!!! He's so proud of himself when he gets the letter right. He's not a fan of sitting down to color but were working on him having fun with his letters. When he gets them right he gets rewards which makes it tons of fun for him. By kindergarten, he'll have it all down pat!!!

Friday Nite Soccer!

It's Friday Night!!! And do you know what that means... it's soccer time!!! Noah was so excited for this evening. He could not wait to get to soccer and practice all his skills.

They practiced passing the ball, kicking into the goal, and dribbling the ball. (Seth wanted in on all the fun. @ least the coach understands and did not mind Seth running onto the field every once in a while.)

Noah dribbled like a penguin.

Then they played red light, green light kicking the ball across the field.

Seth had fun watching from all different angles.

He would venture off to the baseball fields...

and decided he wanted nothing to do with soccer anymore.

Back to the games, Noah right before he scored a goal!!! He got his 1st goal tonight and did awesome. Of course I did not get it on camera. I was to busy running down the field cheering him on!

Half time pep talk from dad...

Noah really thinks its cool to have his buddy Matthew out on the fields with him. Noah goes to school with Matthew and they are best buds there.

Here's a little video of all the fun they had tonight!

Noah had tons of fun tonight and we were so impressed how well he did! He can't wait to go back out there next week!!!

Picture Day! (Take 2)

Today was Seth's picture day @ school. With Noah's help, we picked out a perfect shirt for Seth to wear. We practiced our smile in the car. Nothing but sweetness came out!!!

Seth moved up rooms about 2 weeks ago and he's been doing so great! He seems like such a big boy!!

Little Mia wanted to be in on the action!

Now that's a smile that lights up the room! I can't believe that come November he will be 2!!! Where has the time gone!

He does this thing when you say cheese and he pulls up his nose. Love it!

No doubt there will be some cute pictures of this little one!

Picture Day!

Noah had picture day today! In preparation for this, we practiced our smile and even got out our church clothes to wear to school. We wanted to look good for the camera.

Noah picked out his handsome pink collared shirt. He thought he would do his "BIG" smile...

In his new room @ school, the Tigers, showing his "semi-sweet" smile...

And mom, I'm going to make a "mean" face for the camera he said...

But maybe we can get a picture like this (but looking at the camera) where he's the sweetest!!!

Can't wait to see those pictures of my Noah!!!

The Splash Pad

Our good friends the Jenkins called us asking if we had plans to night. Nope none. They had a fabulous idea to go to the "new" Stallings Park and try out the Splash Pad and Playground. Shortly after the kids got up from their nap we explained to Noah we had something fun to do. He was beyond excited! With bathing suits on and towels in hand we headed out the door. Of course right when we got their it started to rained but stopped quickly so we could get in some fun! Noah saw the splash pad and screamed out from the car he wanted to go there.

At first they were like what is this...

Within seconds, they were all running around!!!

Running from water spout to water spout...

Keeping up with all the big kids...

having a blast!

Noah loved every minute of it!

Seth ventured out on his own several times.

They loved getting on top of the benches and sitting then running into the water!

Thanks Jenkins Family for inviting us! We had a blast and we already know we are planning another outing to the park!!!
