Preschool Fun!!!

This past birthday I got Noah a preschool book to prepare for school. I wasn't !00% sure when to start having him do it but now seems like a perfect time.

We got his bucket together with pencils, crayons, scissors, and a glue stick. It's going to take a while to go through the book and I hope he enjoys doing it. With his new desk and the new preschool book, he'll be set for Kindergarten in a year!!!

A Boy & Dirt

Friday night we went out to the baseball fields. The kids had a blast playing in the dirt and with their friends. The game ended up getting canceled due to the weather. But somehow Seth managed to come home looking like this...

The picture does not do it justice. He was covered head to toe with red dirt. He got the dirt on his hands and managed to wipe his face with it covering his face with red mud. He had a not so pale complexion going on. Seth is 100% boy and loves every minute of getting dirty and doing all the daring stuff!

It's a Roller Coaster fun!!! - VBS 2013

This past week was our church's Vacation Bible School - VBS. And let me tell you, it was a blast!!! It was a fun-filled, late night, learning about Jesus, awesome time!!! The kids had no idea what they were about to embark on...

We headed to church late Monday afternoon, we grabbed a bit to eat (poor kids they ate Chick-fil-A every single night!) and got in high-gear to have fun. The theme was Roller Coasters and they loved every minute of it... Noah, Chandler and Jay riding the coasters!

They say "hands up in the back seat."

I dropped Noah off in his room on Monday and bless his heart all his friends were assigned to another room but I was so proud of him, he met new friends and went into the room each night excited to go in there. The 1st night he came out of his room and told me "I made new friends!" Bless his heart! Noah's age group went around to different activities such as recreation, snack time, crafts, and Noah's favorite was music in the Big Attic. Even tonight he's still singing some of the songs... I'm H-A-P-P-Y and I'm goin' tell you why, my God loves me and He tells me all the time! & Everybody go WEEE! WEEE! Hands up in the front seats! Hold on in the back!

I had the privilege of teaching the Volunteers Kids age 2. We had a blast. I taught with 2 people from our Latin Campus that are the sweetest and made a new friend from Main Campus. We had 12 kids each night and they were so well behaved. There were a couple of moments when some would have melt downs but all in all they had a blast. We sang songs, did crafts, read books, played outside, and had a fabulous time!

Friday night was family night and we all joined in the worship center to end the week. Noah had no clue he was meeting in there but was beyond excited when he found out he got to go in big church!

On a side note - I loved the heart of my little Noah. He got stickers on Thursday @ VBS and wanted to wear them to school for show-n-share. We made sure to save them and he wore them to school. When I picked him up I noticed a sticker was gone and I asked him where it was. He said "I shared it with Abby and told her about Bible School." Already at a little age encouraging his friends to come to church!

We met in big church and got to sing all the songs they sang throughout the week. The kids had a blast jumping around to the music and doing the motions.

Seth had no clue what was going on... he was amazed!

The preschoolers got to go on stage and sing there songs...

I'm H-A-P-P-Y and I'm goin' tell you why, my God loves me and He tells me all the time!

Everybody go WEEE! WEEE! It's a rollar coast fun!!!

Yes I'm exhausted from his week and needed to day to re-group. But if you ask if I would do it all over again, you better believe it! It was worth it! My kids each night asked "are we going to bible school?" and were beyond excited to go. I loved being a volunteer and loved serving with the little ones. They might have worn me out but they were a pleasure to have!

Now on to VBS next year!!!!

Packin' a Lunch

On Friday, Noah was able to take his lunch to school. They were headed to the park to eat lunch for the afternoon. He was beyond excited about taking his lunch. He reminded me about it every day!

He had all planned out what he was going to take since about Tuesday... "a jelly sandwich with no peanut butter cause my teacher said no peanut butter. And mom can you save me some grapes to pack. and oh yeah what about Cheetos?!?!" Later on Thursday he said "don't forget to pack me a napkin!" Ha! No idea why he had to have a napkin in his lunch box but i made sure there was one in there. We got it together on Thursday night and took it in Friday. We had a little misunderstanding at the daycare cause they said he could not have grapes but forgot to tell us. But my lunch came to the rescue and we switched some things around in Noah's lunch bag to make it work. He took my banana and I promised to save the grapes for the ride home from school for him and his brother. All in all he loved taking his lunch! I hope he gets this excited about packing a lunch when he is grown-up!!!

A New Day!

Tonight at 9pm for me starts a new day. You might ask why. Well here goes...

Got off work yesterday, got to mom's house at a decent time considering I was the "late nurse" and dinner was ready. Get inside to notice Seth doesn't look so good. Mom said he's played hard all afternoon and just now sat down. Got to the dinner table and seth just sits there. You see Seth doesn't turn down food, ever! He wanted to be held. Oh no! Low and behold it hit him and it was everywhere! Poor baby! Cleaned him up at moms and pretty much everyone's appetite at this point was gone. Got him home and laid him on the couch to make sure he was ok before putting him bed. Got him in bed around 8pm. Tucked Noah in bed around 8:30ish and informed him it was water day tomorrow and to not come out of his room. I'm winding down, getting things together for the next day and around 9pm I hear a "mommy, mommy." I go check on Noah and he says "I've peed in my bed." Excuse me! It's only 9 and you've wet the bed. "Well mom you told me to not come out of my room or I couldn't do water day so I didn't come out of my room to go pee!" Seriously! He took that literally. And I made sure tonight that if he had to go potty he could come out of his room. Then he decides he need to go to the bathroom more and the toilet clogs. I go hunting for the plunger and de-clog the toilet, tuck him into my bed cause his sheets are soiled and politely ask him to go to sleep. At least it was a peaceful night sleep with no interruptions. Get up before the alarm clock and Noah wakes up! Oh man! Get him back to sleep for what I think and then I come out of the bathroom and he's still awake! A 4 yr old awake since 5am does not make a good combination. We get out the door and head into school for water day and at least I have a half day today! Everyone is where they need to be and I get them all by 12 to put everyone down for there naps. Noah refuses to nap Seth passes out! We run a quick errand after naps and I get all out of the car and leave my purse in there with my keys and my phone. Noah jumps into the drivers seat and pretends to drive and just as I'm asking him to get out he jumps out, pushes the lock button, and shuts the door as I'm running to it. Oh no is right. Husband out of of town, spare keys in my purse in the locked car. You have to be kidding me! At least none of the kids were in the car! Neighbor walks by with her daughter and generously lets me use her phone to call to get some help. And magically, 30 min after my keys were locked in the car, they have been rescued and all is well!

I'm ready for a new 24 hrs tonight! How about you!

Puddle Jumping

It was one of those rainy days here in Charlotte. The sun would shine for 10 min, go behind the clouds and then the rain would come, hard and fast. Numerous times at work, the power would click on and off. Getting home from work was a nightmare and took 25 minutes more then normal. I got dinner ready and then we needed to decompress in our house and what better way then to ride our bikes through the puddles...

I had a change of plans when I realized Seth was not keeping up with Noah riding and decided it might be better to go jump in the puddles...

And I was right. They loved jumping in the puddles! Seth was awesome. He would run and slide into them and sit and kick his feet.

Then Seth decided it would be better to "swim" in the puddles!

And swimming in the puddles was awesome! They enjoyed their time getting soaking wet and did not want to come inside. I asked them what was the highlight of their day and jumping in the puddles was #1.

A great way to end the day!!!

Yard Sale!

What a beautiful day for a yard sale and that's just what we did! We put out all our baby stuff and said "what's your best offer?" and we sold almost everything but some of the baby clothes and the stroller system.

We had some up and down moments @ the yard sale that we won't discuss... lets just say we walked away better because of it and we did not lose our attitude with a mean individual in our neighborhood. Some of the stuff we took to goodwill and the rest we are going to see if the clothes other people want. All in all, we did great at our little yard sale!! Proud of us!
