A Desk Re-do

Jeremy and I got our hands on a very old desk that has been housed at Jeremy's grandparents house for sometime now. There is no telling how old it really is but we are guessing more then 30 yrs old. I thought one would be cool to put in the boys rooms but didn't want to play the price for them. Well we got it for free! Awesome. Not so awesome that it was a mess. There was a sticker on the front in white on the metal and who knows how long that had been there, finger nail polish on the wood, and lots of pencil marks everywhere. Don't forget all the rust all over it too! I got on my all time favorite, Pinterest, and found a way to re-furbish a desk. To my amazement it looked pretty simple. We got to work sanding it down and by this point Jeremy was getting interested in what I was doing with the desk. Next thing I know I had a helper doing the entire project. We took off the desk top and taped all the wood. We cleaned it really good to get all the sanded rust off... lots of orange dust everywhere. After spray painting, polishing, and a few touch-ups, we have ourselves a new desk for the kids!!!!

Desk: Free! Spray Paint: $9. Noah excited about doing homework @ his new desk: Priceless!!!

Memorial Day Weekend!

I love 3 day weekends... even if I did have to work on Saturday and Sunday for my weekend rotation. It means I get Monday off - and to get to sleep in!!! Nothing has really been planned for tomorrow, just getting olds and ends done around the house. We took great naps today and then headed over to my parents house for a cookout. We took the bounce house and the kids played on it for hours.

Everyone had fun and enjoyed the time together.

Now to enjoy sleeping in tomorrow!!!

Time Out!!!

Personally, I thought this was sort of funny... we had all 5 of our kids from Wednesday Night in time out. They decided to not listen and run ahead of us to get outside to the playground after we asked to walk quietly down the hallway and to not run.

They sat for a little and then we had to get all their energy out! A room full of boys can wear you out!

Play Dough & An Awards Banquet

I'm pretty sure if you live in the Charlotte area you experienced the rain fall we had yesterday. It made for a cooler day but we stayed inside cause it rained all afternoon. The boys were into about everything. I caved and let them get out the play dough. It occupied them for 30 min!

When the rain stopped around 7ish we went outside to jump in the puddles. It was fun! Minus the fact they had to wear the wet shoes to school and I had to dry them over night!

Noah had his soccer awards banquet tonight. He had fun this year even though we really didn't know any of the players.

Coach Annie gave him a really cool metal!

Noah and Coach Annie! She did a great job helping them learn to play the sport!

Hey look at my cool metal!

Noah's teammates and him...

All the mirco-soccer players (they were so well-behaved cause at this point it was 7pm and they had not given them their pizza yet!)

We had a blast! Now Noah is asking to play another sport but I think we're going to take a break this summer!

Week Re-cap

Oh what a week...

Seth had homework for school. I forgot about it. Opps but what 2 yr old do you know that has homework. We did it Thursday night and he was very proud of his picture...

Friday, we went to a movie on the lawn in our little town and saw the movie "Hercules". Noah and Seth both enjoyed it. (we felt bad cause the projector kept cutting off so every 10 min the movie would stop. we eventually had to leave.) The boys that it was cool to watch a movie in the grass.

Saturday morning was Noah's last soccer game. He did really well. His teammate pictured with him. We never got to know her name...

Kickin'

Scorin' a Goal!!!

He almost got this goal but he kicked it off the side of the goal...

Score!

Run Noah run!

So proud of himself!!!

The season has come to an end but we had fun playing!!!

Mother's Day Weekend!

This has been a busy weekend! I took Friday off because I was part of a special weekend with a good friend of mine. She was getting married. I did things around the house Friday morning and then by the afternoon is was time to get ready for the rehearsal dinner... Everyone got dressed up!

The boys had a good time and were very well behaved! Some of the bridesmaids... Brittany, Brandi (the bride), Jessica and myself!

Saturday morning started out with soccer for Noah. We forgot his ball at home so he had to use Seth's small ball. It didn't seem to bother him.

He got to play against his good buddy Matthew.

He scored a goal and he was beyond excited!

They were all over the fields.

I quickly ran home and needed to get ready to leave by 11:30 to head to the wedding. Yikes! I managed to get clean and ready just in time! I don't have a picture of the bride and me but this sweet picture of my little family makes my day!

We made it back after after dinner time and just relaxed a bit. We let the kids watch a movie to wind down. They were so well behaved at the wedding!

Sunday was mother's day! The boys ran into the bathroom and Seth said "Happy Muther's day!" very softly but I understood him and thought it was sweet! We went to church then headed to see my Nana for lunch with the gang. 4 generations...

It was a nice weekend!!! Now to rest for the the work week!

Riding a Bike

While Jeremy was gone to Africa, the kids daycare asked the kids to bring in their bikes to ride at school. I felt really bad cause we have never really shown Seth yet how to ride a bike. So when Jeremy got home I had him get out the little tricycle so Seth could learn. He figured out how to turn the peddles but he's not the fastest...

... he's not to sure about turning...

...but he is determined to not give up riding a bike!

We walked around the block and he insisted upon riding the bike and peddling it. He did good but my back was hurting after it. He's learning!!!
