(almost) Wordless Wednesday!

What a beautiful day!!! We were outside almost every hour of the day... except for when someone was sleeping or we were eating dinner. We rode our bikes, ran around the yard, played with water guns with our cousin, drove our buzz lightyear car, and rode in the stroller!!! It was one of those days that was relaxing and fun!!! No one seemed to complain when we were outside, there were no tears shed, and there was nothing but smiles on everyones face!!!

Check out Noah on his bike...

Seth is 5 mos old!!!

Seth is officially 5 mos old!!! Well to be exact 5 months and 2 days old but who's counting... He's grown up so much in the just the last month. He is enjoying the new food we are giving him. Rice cereal was not his favorite so we now mix it with bananas for breakfast and sweet potatoes for supper and loves it! We're going to start introducing more new food in the coming weeks and see how he does. So far he's enjoyed the 2 things he's had. He's also on the day of his dedication turned over from his back to his belly!!! And he's been doing it on a regular basis. Most mornings and after naps we'll find him on his belly instead of his back... I always put him on his back to sleep!!!But it's so cool cause now he can roll from stomach to back and then back to stomach. He's such a sweet baby and a joy to be around. He has his moments when he can be fussy but when he is fussy he is still so cute!!! He's been a blessing to our family and we can't wait to see what the next month has in store.

Potty Training Update...

As many of you might know, we are attempting to potty train Noah. There have been ups and downs and times when we wanted to give up but last week we decided not to give up and he got the hang of it!!! We started about 3 weeks ago at his daycare and they would take him every hour, but at home he claimed he was too scared to go to the potty and would never use it. Then all of a sudden about a week ago it's like a light switched inside of him and he's gone almost every time we've taken him. Of course there is a reward after each time he goes. We've had a few accidents and we still wear pull-ups out in public just in case of an accident but he is doing fabulous. Today, I think he told me "I've got to pee" about 100 times. He would go, sit, and do nothing. But there were the times he actually did go. He wore underwear all day today and did a fabulous job at the house with no accidents!!! It's a relief for me to have one out of diapers!!!

Seth's Dedication

Today was an important day in our house... it was Seth's Dedication at Hickory Grove!!! We were so excited to have all our family present along with many friends!

Many of my co-workers and others asked of me this week "what is a dedication?" It was a great opportunity for me to tell others about our church and what we as a family believe!!! Well at Hickory Grove a dedication means "a ceremony where believing parents make a commitment before the Lord to submit a child to God's will and to raise that child according to God's Word and way." And we commitment to do that as parents!!!

Afterwards we headed to lunch and then some afternoon fun!!! But Seth was too tired from his big day to enjoy all the fun. He slept the afternoon away...

Jay enjoying the bounce house.

Little Dylan enjoying it also!

And big brother Noah getting in on all the fun!!!

Good Endings to a Bad day

So I had a not so good day at work today... patient assignment that did not want to "behave," got a lovely admission that was a train-wreck, and did not get to eat lunch until 3pm... needless to say I had a huge headache, was starving and really had to use the restroom! I was never so glad that I was only working 8-hrs today!!! I hurried to get things done so I could pick up the boys. When I got to the daycare, Noah made my day... he ran across the playground and jumped into my arms saying "hey mommy! let's go home!" My heart melted and my day was complete. And sweet little Seth was just smiling when I picked him up!!! It's the little things in life like picking your kids up at daycare that just makes your day!!!!

Funny things a 2 yr old says...

Noah was helping me fold clothes this morning, which for some reason he enjoys jumping in them and helping me put them away. Well he first asked me for dad's pants so he could fold them. Then he grabbed none other then my bra and said "mommy here's your boobies!" Laughing hard, I finally told him it was not that. He insisted he knew what this piece of garment was but he never really understood. Oh well lesson for another day!

Highlights

The highlight of our night was Noah using the restroom. He had not used the restroom all afternoon so prior to getting a bath we sat him on his little toilet and he kept saying he wanted to hear the music... well music doesn't happen unless you use the bathroom... so guess what all of a sudden happened... the music!!!! I got a little too excited about the music and scared Noah and of course he cried. But after he was consoled, we laughed, smiled, and got an M&M! Of course this highlight is to be continued....

First Bites

Seth got his first taste of something to eat besides milk... rice cereal! He was not to thrilled about it but he's getting to used to something being placed into his mouth. He's trying to get the hang of how to use his tongue and to push the food back into his mouth. So far he's doing good. He gets about 3-4 bites in before he's done.

Eating can be really messy!

Just a little video from Monday when he took his first bites...
